Reducing screens isn’t a punishment.

It’s a gift that gives kids back their time, their focus, their joy and their childhood.

Join our growing group of Connecticut parents, teachers and community members working together on smart screen initiatives.

Current efforts include adopting a statewide phone-free school day, scaling back classroom screens and technology, supporting families in delaying smartphones, and giving our kids more opportunities for real-world play, independence and connection.

Governor Lamont is in support, and it’s on the agenda of the Education Committee this legislative session. Now is the moment for parents, educators, students, and community members to speak up and show broad public support for a clear, statewide solution.

About Us

This began with a small group of moms who read The Anxious Generation together, and it has quickly grown into a statewide movement. Our mission is to partner with families, educators and community leaders to create school and home environments that support healthy childhood development.

We are actively campaigning for a statewide Bell-to-Bell smart phone ban in alignment with Governor Lamont’s Phone Free Schools initiative.

Next, we want to work with the state to evaluate current technology use and identify ways to significantly reduce screens in all classrooms, K-12.

Alongside these two goals, we want to expand opportunities for free and independent play at school and normalize delayed access to smartphones, smart watches and social media at home.  Because when we come together as a community, we can make real change.
